Ora Johnson

Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 13, at Upper Hope Cemetery for Ora Pearl McCabe Johnson, 503 Penasco Road, Hope, New Mexico. J.T. Ross officiated at the services.

Mrs. Johnson, 82, died Thursday, November 9, 2006 in Artesia, New Mexico.

Pearl was born March 26, 1924 in Maysville, Oklahoma; the daughter of Jesse Earnest McCabe and Rose Lee Moore McCabe.

A lifelong resident of Hope, she was a housewife and mother, and member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by a son Wesley Briscoe and by a grandson Troy Briscoe.

Survivors include sons Curtis Briscoe of Carlsbad, N.M. and Phillip Briscoe and wife Amy of Bayfield, Colo.; daughters Marlene Head of Lovington, N.M., Earvelle Schneider and husband Francis of Hope, Wilma Privetts and husband Bill of Artesia, and Lana Powell and husband Kenny of Brownfield, Texas; a sister-in-law Beatrice McCabe of Tucson, Arizona; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grand-children; and seven great-great-grand-children.
