Opal Buck

Services are scheduled at 10:00 A M Saturday, November 13, at Terpening Son Chapel for Opal J. Buck, 1601 W. Centre Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Buck, 91, died Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at Lakeview Christian Northgate in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Harris, W.G. Davis, Jim Wadkins, Stanley Davis, John Hobbs and Joe Carlo. Mrs. Buck was born April 20, 1913 in Mesquite, Texas; the daughter of William K. Woodard and Alma J. Beal Woodard. On March 16, 1931 she was married to Aston N. Buck in Lovington, NM. She came to Artesia in 1964 from Anson, Texas. He preceded her in death April 2, 1991. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, a grandson Alan Buck 2 brothers and a sister. Survivors include son Tommy Buck and wife Alicia of El Centro, Calif.; daughters Barbara Hobbs and husband John of Katy, Texas, and Denise Davis and husband Stanley of Artesia; sister-in-law Novelle Woodard of Coleman, Texas; grandchildren Mark Hobbs, Wesley Davis, Tanya Hawk, Kellie Buck, Holly Mosby and Mandy Davis; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
