Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 27 at Woodbine Cemetery for Oliver Curtis Cob Adams, 315 S. 39th Street, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Adams, 73, died Friday, June 21, 2002 at his home. Family members will officiate at the services. Cremation has take place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary. Mr. Adams was born June 26, 1928 in Lakewood, New Mexico; the son of Thomas Adams and Maggie Huffmon Adams. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On May 16, 1966 he was married to Cleo Peden in Juarez, Mexico. He owned and operated Adams Construction and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and traveling. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and three brothers. Survivors include his wife Cleo Adams of the family home; sons Richard Small and wife Melenie of Leitchfield, Maine, Melton Small of Hartville, Maine, Elton Huffmon and wife Kay of Roswell, N.M. and Onnie Huffmon and wife Karen of Alamogordo, N.M.; daughters Myrna Lea Landrie and husband Billy of Artesia, Jodie Rutledge of Artesia and Cherry Carrell and husband Ray of Alamogordo, N.M.; brothers Jackie Adams and companion June of Roswell and Johnny Adams and wife Virginia of Roswell; sister Anna Kathrine White and husband LeRoy of Roswell; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
