Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, at Terpening amp; Son Chapel for Olive A Burns, 1814 Sears Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. PMrs. Burns, 77, died Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at the Desert Gardens Assisted Living facility in Hobbs, New Mexico. PRev. Walt Isaacs will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Levon Webb, David Lynn, Sammy Boyce, Jimmy Don Graham, Dwight Phillips, and Covan Downs. Visitation will be at Terpening amp; Son Mortuary Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. PMrs. Burns was born March 5, 1929 in Antlers, Oklahoma; the daughter of Will Welch and Louisa Crowder Welch. POn November 1, 1946 she was married to Cleo Jannings Burns in DeQueen, Arkansas. She came to Artesia in 1955 from Boswell, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death Jan. 23, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother Gerald Welch; and grandson C.J. Burns. PShe retired as a Bookkeeper for First National Bank and was of the Baptist denomination.
Survivors include her sons Gerald Burns of Carrizozo, N.M., and David Burns and his wife Diana of Crownpoint, N.M.; sisters Tommye Ruth Bertero of Austin, Texas, and Eleanor Lane of California; grandchildren Aubony Burns, Autumn Burns, Amy Briggs, and Heather Hurst; and eight great-grandchildren
