Services are scheduled at 9:30 A.M. Monday, December 27, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Ofilia Serrano Montao, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Montao, 95, died Thursday, December 23, 2004 at her home. Burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery. A vigil service is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Montao was born May 5, 1909 in Cebolla, New Mexico; the daughter of Julian Serrano and Emiliana Foster Serrano. She was married to Jose Montao in Cebolla, New Mexico. She came to Artesia in 1998 from Colorado. He preceded her in death March 12, 1964. She was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include 2 sons Max Montao and wife Marcella of Artesia, and Robert Montao of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 6 grandchildren Lisa Rayos, Karla Chavez and husband Rene, Tawnya Sanchez and husband Steven, Estelle Riley and husband Chris, Crystal Gallegos, and Regina Montao; and 11 great-grandchildren including Joey Rayos, Jennifer Rayos, Aaron Chavez, Luciano Chavez, Steven Tomas Sanchez, and Farrah Sanchez all of Artesia.
