Services are scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at First Baptist Church for Oda Lee Janes, 42 W. Blevins Rd., Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Janes, 85, died Monday, February 11, 2013 at Heartland Nursing Center in Artesia.
Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Monty Carlo, Joe Carlo, Lee Livingston, Marc Morillon, Clayton Brooker and Chris Padilla.
Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 12:00 p.m. Thursday.
Oda Lee was born January 20, 1928 in Red Lake, New Mexico the daughter of Odus Rogers and Frances Johnson Rogers. She grew up in Portales, N.M.
She married Monty Carlo in 1945 in Portales. They came to Artesia in 1975 from Carlsbad, N.M. Her husband preceded her in death in 1979.
After becoming a widow, she was married to Jimmy R. Janes in 1984. He preceded her in death 2010.
Oda Lee spent her life caring for others. She loved working in her yard and tending to animals.
While living in Carlsbad, Oda Lee became an Xray technician, and worked in several hospitals for over 40 years. She also owned a clothing store in Carlsbad called De Lees Fashions.
Survivors include a son Jim Carlo and wife Yvonne of Artesia a daughter Janet Livingston and husband Robert of Artesia a brother Ron Rogers of Fredericksburg, Texas a sister Cleta Faye Prude of Portales grandchildren Monty Carlo, Joe Carlo and wife Jawna, Carrie Noble, Marcie Carlo, Mandi Morillon and husband Marc, Lee Livingston and wife Florence, Lisa Brooker and husband Clayton all of Artesia, Landon Livingston deceased, and Amber Romero and husband Arsenio of Las Cruces and 12 greatgrandchildren. Oda Lee is also survived by stepchildren Jimmy D. Janes and wife Debbie, Kenni Barnett and husband Lanny, Mary Pope, and their nine children and seven grandchildren.
