Orville Dane O.D. Scott, 76, of Artesia passed away Friday, June 30, 2006 at his home, surrounded by his family.
BRServices are scheduled at 10 a.m., Monday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with burial at Woodbine Cemetery.
BRPallbearers are grandsons Johnny Craft, Jud Hightower and Christopher Scott, Rusty Arp, Casey Golden and life-long friend Corte Prude.BRBRHonorary Pallbearers are all grandchildren and great-grand-children.BRBRA rosary will also be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.BRBRBorn Jan. 14, 1930 to A.K. and Alice Cyphers Scott of Portales, N.M., O.D. married Marie Carlo of Bronx, N.Y. on Feb.12, 1950. He retired from Navajo Refinery where he worked as an operator in 1992.BRBRO.D. was an avid hunter and fisherman and was devoted to his wife, Marie. He was also a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.BRBRSurvivors include his wife, Marie, of the family home; daughters Deborah Craft and husband, Johnny, of Artesia and Karen Hightower and husband, Joe, of Amarillo, Texas; sons Ky Scott and wife, Karen, of Artesia and DannyBRScott and wife, Ginger, of Artesia; grandchildren Johnny Craft of Artesia, Lanci Arp and husband, Rusty, of Lubbock, Texas, Jud Hightower and wife, Dayna, of Amarillo, David Scott and Taylor Scott of Artesia, Christopher Scott and fianc Valerie Rivas of Nogal, N.M. and Anessa Golden and husband,BRCasey, of Portales; great-grandchildren Kyla Taylor, Trey Craft, Lexy Hightower, Jakob Craft, Braxon Hightower, Gage Arp and Caden Golden; and one sister, LaVern Johnson of Roswell, N.M.
BRHe was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and two brothers.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 5800 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110, or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
