Nicodemis "Nico" Marquez Hernandez

A public viewing for Nicodemis "Nico" Izack Marquez Hernandez will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Terpening & Son Mortuary Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am at Faith Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 with internment to follow at Woodbine Cemetery.

Nicodemis “Nico”, 21, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 16, 2024. Nico has finally been reunited with his mother; they both are smiling down on their family. Nico could brighten anyone’s day with his smile, laughter, and his hugs.

Nico was the first born to Jason Ray Hernandez and Heather Lynnette Sanchez on February 18, 2002, in Carlsbad, NM. He went to school in Artesia, New Mexico and in El Paso, Texas. Nico attended Faith Baptist Church and accepted his Lord and Savior on January 14, 2024.

Nico was always spending time with his family and friends. He would give his shirt off his back if he could to anyone he met. He knew how to brighten anyone’s day by just talking to him. He made sure to give everyone a hug and always had the brightest smile. He was the life of the party anywhere he went. He had the best dance moves you have ever seen. Nico loved himself a lot, but he loved others more, especially his sons.

He will continue to live on in the lives of his Son, Tray-Von Skye, Partner, Thaliya Sillas, Step-Son Jakai “Sonny”, Father, Jason Hernandez (Gloria), Siblings, Nemicio, Nehemiah (Dulce), Sienna, Sierra Hernandez, Javin Carrera, Xadrian Bustamante, Nikki Christian, Nephews, Jahseh Izaiah, Ezra Sanchez, Step-Dad, Dominic Sanchez, Grandparents, Paul & Peggy Anaya, Patsy Galvan, Ignacia Vigil, Great Grand-Mother, Elisa Marquez, Uncles & Aunts, Anna (Scott) Gutierrez, Jesse Hernandez (Chris), Tina “Yiya” Hernandez (Rick), Stephanie Anaya (Gia), Paulie Anaya, Manuel Anaya, Javier “Jarv” Lopez, Manuel Orosco, Michelle Galvan (Jenessa), Vanessa Chavarria, Domisha (Brad) Williams, Valerie Orosco, Jerrold (Angel) Chavarria, Lisa Chavarria, Great Uncles & Aunts, Charles and Stella Cunningham, Cameron & Irma Cunningham, Daryle Cunningham, and many more great Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins.

Nico is preceded in death by his mother, Heather Lynnette Marquez Sanchez, Grandfathers, Joe Hernandez and Adrian Cunningham, Great Grandfather Anastacio Marquez
