Nellie Brown

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 22, at Woodbine Cemetery for Nellie Marie Brown of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Brown, 89, died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Artesia General Hospital.

Ronnie Derrick will officiate at the services.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Sunday from 1:00 3:00 p.m.

Nellie was born December 7, 1925 in Roxton, Texas the daughter of James Mathews and Nellie Mabel Hale Mathews. She was a longtime Artesia resident.

She worked in Restaurants for many years and was a former member of First Baptist Church. Nellie loved to watch Dukes Of Hazard and Walker Texas Ranger and enjoying a cold beer while watching her shows.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and three brothers.

Survivors include her son Rufus Brown and wife Pam of Maljamar, N.M. grandchildren Brandon Brown and Angie Derrick greatgrandchildren Conager and ALia Derrick brothers Lloyd Mathews of Artesia, and Butch Mathews of Artesia.
