Natividad Urias

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 17, at Trinity Temple Assembly of God for Natividad Urias of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Urias, 84, died Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at her home. Burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Vasquez, Tony Vasquez, Paul Martinez, Seth Chavez, Benjamin Montez, and Michael Vasquez. Mrs. Urias was born December 25, 1924 in Barrancos de Guadalupe, Mexico; the daughter of Ruperto Urias and Rumalda Trujillo Urias. She came to Artesia in 1949 from Mexico. Natividad worked as a cook and a house cleaner. She was a member of the Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Manuel Chavez; daughter Herminia Chavez; grandson Jaime Chavez; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers. Survivors include her daughters Adela Chavez of Artesia, Minnie Chavez of Artesia, Margie Chavez and husband Sam Trujillo of Albuquerque, N.M., Mary Chavez of Artesia, Elfida Montoya and husband Ernie of Bernalillo, N.M., and Erlene Leena Chavez of Artesia; brother Cisto Urias of Mexico; 19 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
