A celebration of life is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 19, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Natalia Salsberry Sosa of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Sosa, 83, died Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Artesia General Hospital.
Fr. Martin Cornejo O.F.M. will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Trankie Montoya, Rodney Salsberry, Soki Segura, Jeremiah Luevano, Gilbert Montoya, and E.J. Jaramillo.
Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
Natalia was born December 16, 1930 in Ft. Stanton, New Mexico the daughter of Fernando Salsberry and Lorenzita Montoya Salsberry. She was a longtime Artesia resident.
On Sept. 27, 1950 she was married to Manuel V. Sosa in Artesia. He preceded her in death August 23, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents son Leroy Sosa 8 siblings including brothers Freddie Salsberry and Danny Sedillo granddaughter Bianca LeRae Sosa and a greatgrandson Jeremiah Palma.
Natalia was a cafeteria worker for the Artesia Public School District and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She also belonged to the Extension Club where she loved to work on crafts. Natalia was a kind and gentle person and the students loved her.
Survivors include her daughters Celeste S. Martinez and husband Cepe of Artesia, and Sandra Sosa of Artesia son Lawrence Y. Sosa of Artesia sisters Ellie Segura and husband Soki of Artesia, Anita Ortiz of Artesia, Della Lopez of Artesia, and Cerinia Salmon of Lovington, N.M. brothers Eloy Salsberry of Artesia, and Martin Sedillo of Hobbs, N.M. grandchildren Naomi Tarango, Lonnie S. Tarango, II, Levi Justice, Adriann Justice, Brittany Huerta, LeRiah Sosa, JuLonne Luevano, Jeremiah Luevano, and John Anthony Sosa 6 greatgrandchildren and 4 greatgreatgrandchildren.
