Graveside services are scheduled for 2 pm Tuesday, November 1, at the Lower Hope Cemetery in Hope, New Mexico for Nadine L. Weddige.
Mrs. Weddige, 92, died on October 27, 2022 at her home in Hope.
Ronnie Williams will officiate at the services.
Nadine was born on June 10, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri; the daughter of Fredrick Wilhelm Deeg and Clementine Barekman Deeg.
Nadine grew up in Los Angeles, California and graduated from El Monte Union High School in 1948.
On January 15, 1965, Nadine married Bill Weddige of Hope.
Bill and Nadine's years in Hope involved operating a dairy, farming and ranching. Over the years, she enjoyed painting and quilting, and teaching these hobbies to anyone interested. She belonged to Eastern Star, Yucca Cowbells, and the Methodist's women's group. She was an appointed official for the voting polls in Hope until it was moved to Artesia. She also served for years on the nominating committee for Penasco Valley Telephone. She was very active in 4-H and was honored for 20 years of service of being a 4-H leader. She was also a very proud grandparent of all the accomplishments of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step father Laurel Shotwell, husband Bill Weddige, brother Ron Shotwell, and an aunt Mary Penny.
Survivors include her sons Von Weddige and wife Laura; and Billy Weddige; a daughter Linda Richardson and husband Tracy; sister-in law Frances Ray; grandchildren Taylor Richardson, Morgan Richardson, Emily Weddige, and Justin Weddige; nephews Ted Ray and Mark Ray; and beloved dog Buddy.
