Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 13, at Terpening Son Chapel for Nadine Phillips of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Phillips, 82, died Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Lakeview Christian Home in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Chaplain John Mezger will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joaquin Carrera, Christopher Carrera, J.J. Shannon, Robert Byrd, Al Ott, Billy Joy, Andrew Ott, and Tony Winters. Mrs. Phillips was born August 21, 1926 in Bucklin, Kansas; the daughter of Hollis Ferrin and Erma Meyer Ferrin. On March 20, 1945 she was married to Alfred Phillips in Bucklin, Kansas. They came to Artesia in 1959. He preceded her in death March 10, 2005. She was a sales clerk for Johnson's Sales and Services and member of the Eastern Star, and American Legion. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters. Survivors include daughters Vickie Joy and husband Billy of Tucson, Arizona, Cathy Byrd and husband Bob of Aztec, N.M., Theresa Ott and husband Al of Lexington, South Carolina, and Hollie Carrera and husband Joaquin of Artesia; brother Gene Ferrin of Bucklin, Kansas; sisters Annie Shepard of Bucklin, and Lucille Moore of Crane, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
