Myrtle Westall

No services are scheduled for long time Eddy County resident Myrtle Myra Westall.

Mrs. Westall, 92, died Sunday, March 18, 2012 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary.

Myrtle was born January 1, 1920 in Lamesa, Texas the daughter of Ivy Wimberly and Myrtle Traweek Wimberly.

On Sept. 1, 1938 she was married to Garel R. Westall in Carlsbad. He preceded her in death Aug. 31, 1993.

She was a housewife and a member of First Baptist Church, Loco Hills, N.M. She was a life member of Eastern Star, Artesia Country Club. She was a strong, courageous wife, mother, politician. golfer, and bridge player.

She was preceded by her parents and 6 brothers.

Survivors include son Ray Westall and wife Karen of Carlsbad daughter Sandra Shank of Artesia brother Bill Wimberly of Ohio sister Lena Prior of Florida 2 grandchildren Tammi Westall of Phoenix, Arizona, Glen Westall and wife Connie of Loco Hills 2 greatgrandchildren Ashley and Tyler.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kevin Harper Golf Scholarship, Assurance Home of Roswell or charity of choice.
