Mrs. Mason, 79, died Sunday, January 13, 2013 at her home.

Cremation is under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary.

Myrl was born August 20, 1933 in Finney Switch, Texas the daughter of Leroy Harold Vaughn and Leilyah LaVene Mills Vaughn. She came to Artesia in 1997 from Plainview, Texas.

She was a school bus driver and a member of the Artesia Senior Citizen Center.

Survivors include her daughters Lotta Jo Ashbrook and husband Terrence Joe Sosa of Artesia, Mary Lavene Simmons of Artesia, Patti Fisher of Plainview, TX, and Pam Brockman and husband Vince of Plainview son Wesley Scott Mason of San Diego, CA numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
