Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 20 at Hagerman Cemetery for Muriel Jane "Roach" Green of Hagerman, N.M.
Muriel Jane Green, 88, died peacefully on November 16, 2017 at her home in Hagerman.
Rev. Stephen Deutsch will officiate at the services.
Muriel was born in Roswell, New Mexico on March 26, 1929; the daughter of John C. Roach and Sue Belle (Ritter) Roach.
Muriel graduated for Artesia High School in 1947. She married Barney Green on October 30 of that same year. They operated a grocery store in Artesia until 1952 when they moved to Hagerman and began to farm. Muriel was a member of the First United Methodist Church, serving by teaching Sunday school classes and helping with Vacation Bible schools, cooking , decorating and in many other ways. In her later years she attended and supported the Presbyterian church in Hagerman.
Muriel was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, her parents and one brother and three sisters.
Survivors include her daughter Pam Angell of Lovington; son Harold Green and wife Gambra of Artesia; grandchildren Ross Angell of Bixby, OK, Bill Angell and wife Kendra of Lovington; Taylor Green and wife Kara of Hope, KS; Meghan Green of Ft. Worth, TX; great-grandchildren Sarah, Ryan, Trippton, Paxtyn and Tristan.
The family is extremely grateful to her long term caregivers Marie Magby andTammy Magby as well as to Kindrid Hospice who graciously ministered in her illness.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian church, 310 Cambridge Avenue, Hagerman, NM 88232.
