Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 30, at Terpening Son Chapel for Morris Dale Stottlemire, of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Stottlemire, 74, died Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 201 E. Hermosa Ave. in Artesia, New Mexico. Rev. J. B. Craft will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Dickson, George Gandy, Steve Willard, Richard Ritter, Charles Perry, and Bucky Hamilton. The honorary pallbearers will be all of his fishing and coffee drinking buddies. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Mr. Stottlemire was born September 8, 1931 in Graham, Missouri; the son of Burl Stottlemire and Addie Taylor Stottlemire. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. On April 8, 1972 he was married to Callie Dee Kesling in Maitland, Missouri. He came to Artesia in 1973 from North Brook, Illinois. She preceded him in death April 8, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his father, a brother, two sons, a daughter, and a great-grandson. He worked as the manager of the transfer station with the City of Artesia. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pinon, N.M., and the Lions Club of Artesia. He was a clock builder, and an avid fisherman. Survivors include his mother Addie Stottlemire of Olathe, Kansas; sons Dale Stottlemire, Jr. of Portland, Oregon, Mike Stottlemire of Tierrabonne, Oregon, Sam Stottlemire of Warm Springs, Oregon, and Jerry Burns and wife Phyllis of Casa Grande, Arizona; daughters Tina Miles of Baxiley, Georgia, and Virgie Wingate and husband Bob of Oxford, Ohio; brothers Charles Stottlemire of Kansas City, Kansas, Buel Stottlemire of Lincoln, Nebraska, Vernon Stottlemire of Olathe, Kansas, Homer Stottlemire of Wellsville, Kansas, Teddy Stottlemire of Broken Bow, Nebraska, and Robert Stottlemire of Long Beach, California; sisters Dorothy Hendrick of Kansas City, Missouri, Bonnie Clayton of Salt Lake City, Utah, Clara Mason of Kansas City, Kansas, and Gladys Palmer of Ft. Worth, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
