Millard Lewis

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, at Mayhill Baptist Church for Millard Lewis, 5676 Rio Penasco Rd., Mayhill, New Mexico. Mr. Lewis, 96, died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at Casa Arena Blanca in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Charles R. Walker will officiate at the services with burial at Mountain Acres Cemetery in Mayhill. Mr. Lewis was born February 19, 1913 in Lower Penasco, New Mexico; the son of Rector Thomas Lewis and Elita Powell Lewis. On March 5, 1949 he was married to Helen Greene in Artesia, NM. He was a lifelong resident of the Mayhill area. He was a farmer and rancher, and member of the Mayhill Baptist Church, and N.R.A. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother David Lewis. Survivors include his wife Helen Lewis of the family home; a brother Orville Edward Lewis of Tularosa, N.M.; and a sister Virginia Berry of Viola, Arkansas
