Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 8, at Terpening Son Mortuary for lifelong Pecos Valley resident Mildred Lucinda Jones Wood of Lake Sumner, New Mexico.

Mrs. Wood, 75, died Sunday, July 3, 2011 in Lubbock, Texas

David Brunson will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be George Jones, Daniel Jones, Candy Jimenez, Laramie Wood, Carl Smith, and Shawn Smith. Visitation atterpening Son Mortuary will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday.

Mildred was born April 2, 1936 in Henryetta, Oklahoma the daughter of Walter Lee Smith and Melvina Bailey Smith.

She was married to George Bill Jones on June 17, 1952 in Roswell, N.M. He preceded her in death in November, 1975.

In December, 1990 she was married to Lonnie Wood in Lake Sumner.

She was a housewife and a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed crocheting and made blankets for all her grandchildren and greatgrandchilden and enjoyed square dancing.

She was preceded in death by husband Bill, by her parents by brothers Willard Smith, Austin Smith, George Smith, Lindell Smith, Weldon Smith, and Eugene Smith and by a sister Helen Tawney.

Survivors include her husband Lonnie Wood of the family home sons Roger Jones and wife Jackie of Artesia, Ronnie Jones and wife Peggy of Ardmore, Okla., Ralph Jones of Lake Sumner, and Laramie Wood and wife Cami of Perryton, Texas a daughter Melinda Stanley and husband Bryan of Idalou, Texas a brother G. C. Smith of Upperco, Maryland a sister Hazel Williams of Henryetta, Okla. seven grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
