Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, at First Baptist Church Mike Meinke of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Meinke, 81, died Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Eastern N.M. Medical Center in Roswell, New Mexico.
Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hunter Brown, Ian Meinke, Ty Meinke, Jay Francis, Lonnie Lyles, Steve Segal, and Johnnie Blount. Honorary pallbearers will be Warren Harrison, Russell Callen, Jimmy Don Graham, Don Carter, Albert Bach, Harvey Apple, Jr., and all of his other friends and Air Force Buddies.
Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Mike was born January 6, 1933 in Mitchell, South Dakota the son of John A. Meinke and Leontina Zeibart Meinke.
He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Mike came to Artesia in 1955 From Mitchell, S. Dakota. On July 10, 1955 he was married to Patti Webb in Artesia.
He was a US Postal Clerk for many years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the D.A.V.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife Patti Meinke of the family home sons John Meinke and wife Colleen of Midland, Texas, and Owen Meinke and wife Debbie of Artesia daughter Michelle Brown and husband Marlin of Clovis, N.M. brothers Norman Meinke of Souix Falls, S. Dakota, Lloyd Meinke of San Antonio, Texas, and Marlin Meinke of Phoenix, Arizona sister Berniece Zemini of Owasso, Oklahoma grandchildren Dr. Bonnie Meinke and husband Steve Segal, Piper Meinke, Ian Meinke, Ty Meinke, Hunter Brown, and Halle Brown and a greatgrandson Kevin Meinke.
