Memorial services are scheduled for 11 am Saturday, January 22, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Miguel "Mike" Salmon of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Salmon, 79, died on January 14, 2022 in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Fr. Larry Bernard will officiate at the services. Cremation will take place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 pm Friday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 pm on Thursday at Terpening & Son Mortuary.
Mike was born on May 12, 1942 in Vado de Piedra, Mexico; the son of Herculano Salmon and Heriberta Ponce Salmon.
On August 25, 1959 he married Mary Fernandez in Pecos, Texas.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mechanic work, and playing his guitar. He was a member of the church choir, loved to do yard work, picking pecans and was a huge Denver Broncos fan. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Celia Salmon, and by an infant brother and sister Moises and Martina Salmon.
Survivors include his wife Mary Salmon; sons Michael P. Salmon Jr. and wife Yolanda, Richard F. Salmon and wife Janie, and Jessie F. Salmon; brothers Manuel Salmon and wife Maria of Glendale, AZ, Herculano Salmon Jr. of Lovington, NM, Margarito Salmon of Artesia, Moises Salmon and partner Tino of Denver, CO, and Guadalupe Salmon and wife Julie of Hobbs, NM; sisters Frances Torres and husband David of Artesia, Mary Fernandez and husband Roberto of Artesia, Marylou Fernandez and husband Pedro of Artesia, Maribel de la Rosa and husband Joe of Artesia, Magdalena Perez and husband Henry of Dumas, TX, Marcela Anaya and husband Vasilio of Bella Vista, AR, Margaret Mireles and husband Abel of Roswell, NM, and Sylvia Salmon of Lubbock, TX; and by 12 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
