Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Miguel N. Orosco of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Orosco, 80, died Thursday, November 5, 2009 at his home. Fr. Brian Guerrini SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his family members. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Monday at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Orosco was born May 7, 1929 in Artesia, New Mexico; the son of Benjamin Orosco and Julia Nunez Orosco. On August 17, 1955 he was married to Trinidad Cadena in Carlsbad, N.M. He was a lifelong Artesia resident. She preceded him in death on October 26, 2000. He was also preceded in death by his parents; son Joe Cadena; two brothers; and two sisters. Miguel was a Custodian for the Artesia School system for 27 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, San Jose Committee, St. Vincent de Paul, and a volunteer at R.S.V.P. Survivors include his son Richard Orosco of Las Cruces, N.M.; daughters Julia Navarrette of Garden City, Kansas, and Janie Orosco of Artesia; brothers Joe Orosco of Hobbs, N.M., Tommy Orosco of Albuquerque, N.M., and Fidel Jimenez of Las Lunes, N.M.; sisters Florinda Culp of Springfield, Missouri, Juanita Saiz of Hobbs, and Lydia Jimenez of Hobbs; grandchildren Joe Cadena, Jr. of Las Cruces, Adam Cadena of Las Cruces, Gilbert Cadena of Las Cruces, Steven Anthony Orosco and wife Amanda of Artesia, Aaron Jacob Orosco of Artesia, Stephanie Ann Orosco of Artesia, Angelica Navarrette of Garden City, and Neida Navarrette of Garden City; and great-grandchildren Jacob Cadena, Andrew Cadena, Britney Cadena, Adonica Cadena, and Lilly Cadena all from Las Cruces, and Sierra Huerta, Larissa Orosco, Hector Flores, and Ben Flores all from Artesia.
