Mickie Mcfatridge

Mickie Adair McFatridge of Artesia, New Mexico died August 8, 2020.

Cremation will take place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Mickie was born December 18, 1935 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Fred Cope and Connie Cope.

On November 5, 1955 she married Eldon Wade McFatridge in Hastings, Oklahoma. They moved to Artesia in 1963 from Hobbs, N.M. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2019.

She started her college education at the College of Artesia and then completed her Bachelor's of Arts degree at Western New Mexico University where she was a member of Who's Who Club.

Mickie's life revolved around art. She enjoyed teaching art classes, doing ceramics, crocheting, painting, weaving and also in bringing famous artists into Artesia.

Survivors include her sons Randy McFatridge and wife Juliane, and James Thomas McFatridge; 7 grandchildren Rhiannon Dominguez and husband Rudy, Stephanie Dossey and husband Mike, Tashina Cortez and husband Sessar, Laura Hamilton and husband Trent, Brandon James McFatridge and wife Belinda, and Byron Wade McFatridge; and 9 great-grandchildren Ayden, Addison, Dominic, Taylor, Peyton, Elizabeth, Sebastian, Elena Marie, Aiden Mateo, Peityn Louann, Harper Estelle.
