Michael Plank

Funeral services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, Terpening Son Chapel for Michael Lynn Plank of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Plank, 58, died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at his home.

Belton Mathews will officiate at the services with cremation to follow under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Hensley, Randy Beck, Billy Hummel, Bobby Snowden, Larry Ivy, Geary Lindsey, Kyle Snowden, Landon Ivy, and Lance Ivy.

Michael was born October 7, 1955 in Artesia, New Mexico the son of Dennis Plank and Patricia Snowden Plank. He was a lifelong area resident.

Starting at an early age, Mike worked in the oil fields around New Mexico. First as a roughneck, then driller and a tool pusher. He finished his working career as a business owner of Duke Trucking. He attended West Main Baptist Church and was a former member of the Artesia Moose Lodge. Mike loved listening to country music especially Hank Williams Jr., and an avid Harley rider.

He was preceded in death by his father Lawson Monteith grandparents Avis and Clarence Wallis and uncle Bud, Billy Snowden.

Survivors include his mother Patricia Monteith of the family home sons Michael Lynn Plank, II, and wife Kristy of Indiana, and Jerry Duke Plank of Artesia stepdaughter Angelia Bethke of Albuquerque, N.M. grandchildren Troy, Mason, Ryan, and Clover Plank of Indiana, Jerrikah and Gerald Plank of Artesia, Geary, Jr., and Kayla Lindsey of Albuquerque aunt Sharon Snowden of Artesia several cousins and family friend Bonnie Kirby.
