Michael (Mike) Robin Ivie, 60, passed suddenly from this life on July 13, 2022. A celebration of life will be held on his birthday, July 22, at Lovington (NM) Country Club at 12 p.m with a private family memorial at a later date.
Mike was born July 22, 1961, to William Boyd & Betty Ann Ivie (Shurette) in Hobbs, NM. He grew up in Denver City, TX where he graduated from Denver City High School in 1979. Mike graduated 4th in his class with a 94.25 GPA which wouldn't surprise anyone that knew him. His intelligence and love for learning carried him far in life and his career.
Mike spent his life devoted to his family and career; spending 43 years in the oil and gas industry and completing his work for XTO Energy. His hard work provided him with opportunities all over the world.
He married his forever soulmate, Cindy Bass Ivie, on December 9, 2006. All of his kids and grandkids looked up to him like he hung the moon. Maybe he did? He definitely had all the best character traits and a smile that lit up any room. He was looking forward to retirement on his "Almost Heaven" land in Rising Star, TX.
Mike is survived by his wife Cindy Ivie of Artesia; father Boyd Ivie of Denver City; brothers Mark Ivie and wife Robin of Big Spring, Marty Ivie and wife Ginger of Lovington; daughters Michelle Davila and husband Caesar of Midland, Megan Langdon and husband Bryce of Midland, Jamie Dean and husband Corey of Andrews, Jade Gandy and Dalton Koonce of Newton; and son Maxwell Ivie and wife Haylee of Artesia. Grandkids include Aaron "Michael" Davila, Alexis Garcia, Marcos Davila, Kel Gard, Faren Dean, Kai Langdon, Ember Dean, Reese Langdon, and Kase Koonce. Great-Grandkids are Camila & Cali Garcia. Mike is preceded in death by his Mother Betty Ivie and grandparents Joseph & Estelle Ivie and Oscar & Ollie Shurette.
