Meregildo Delgado

Services are scheduled at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Meregildo Tony Delgado, 407 Gage Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. PMr. Delgado, 90, died Saturday, October 20, 2007 at Artesia Good Samaritan Center. PBurial will be at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Javier Jaramillo, Jose Tesillo, Kevin Delgado, Billie Delgado, Chris Delgado, and Gabriel Delgado. Honorary pallbearers will be all other grandchildren. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation will be at Terpening amp; Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Mr. Delgado was born August 14, 1917 in Casa Piedra, Texas; the son of Antonio Delgado and Blasa Duran Delgado. POn Feb. 12, 1940 he was married to Eva Navarrette in Artesia. He was a longtime Artesia resident. PHe owned and operated his own hay hauling business and worked for the Eddy Co. Road Dept. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, and Cursillistas. PHe was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 3 sisters and 2 grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Eva Delgado of the family home; sons Abel Delgado of Rocky Mount, N. Carolina, Leo Delgado of Artesia, Joe Delgado of Artesia, Jesse Delgado of Artesia, and John Delgado of Artesia; daughters Elisa Bejarano of Andrews, Texas, Teresa Jaramillo of Artesia, and Sofia Tesillo of Artesia; brother Pedro Delgado of Bakersfield, California; sisters Theodora Ruiz of Artesia, Coltilde Fuentes of Artesia, Tomasa Salas of Artesia, and Longina Ponce of Artesia; 31 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
