Melvin Oglevie

Memorial services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 1, at Terpening Son Mortuary for Melvin Clifford Oglevie of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Oglevie, 74, died Sunday, February 23, 2003 at his home. Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place. Mr. Oglevie was born July 29, 1928 in Leslie, Arkansas; the son of David Dean Oglevie and Lillian Vera Couch Oglevie. He came to Artesia in 1942 from Borger, Texas and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver and dispatcher for Steere Tank Lines and Groendyke Transport. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by sisters Irene Santo and Mary Waller. Survivors include sisters Edith Tiner of Pahrump, Nevada, Margaret Rogers of Artesia; and Lorene Bute of Lebanon, Oregon; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. The family suggests that mmemorial contributions be made to the charity of ones choice.
