Melissa Yates-Jorren

Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Hermosa Drive Church of Christ for Melissa Ann Jorren of Artesia, New Mexico.

Ms. Jorren, 41, died Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Carlsbad Medical Center due to a heart attack.

Michael Joiner will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald Ray Tidwell, Chuck Tidwell, Johnny Miller, Robert Soukup, Kendal Hendrix, and Dwayne Pounds. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Dowell, Betty Dowell, Otis Yates, Roby Zumwalt, Bill Matthews, and Michael Casabonne.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Melissa was born March 8, 1971 in Artesia, New Mexico the daughter of Jerry R. Yates and Judy Ann Means Yates. She was a lifelong Artesia resident.

She was a homemaker and a member of Hermosa Drive Church of Christ. Melissa also enjoyed horseback riding with her daddy.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Preston and Alma Means, and Joe and Faye Yates.

Survivors include her daughter Kinsley Lynn Jorren of Artesia son Kolton James Jorren of Artesia parents Jerry and Judy Yates of Artesia brother Gene Yates of Artesia and numerous aunts and uncles.
