Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at Hermosa Drive Church of Christ for Maxine Pogue Lewis, 2207 W. Ray Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Lewis, 87, died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at her home.
Michael Joiner will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael McGlothlin, Charles Pogue, Don Westlake, Roland Lundy, Kirk Lawrence, and Dwayne Pounds.
Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Mrs. Lewis was born July 18, 1923 in Pawnee, Texas the daughter of Jim Pogue and Annie Cooley Pogue.
On Nov. 23, 1946 she was married to Al Lewis in Sinton, Texas. She came to Artesia in 1971 from Sinton.
She was an Elementary School Teacher for twentyeight and a half years. She was a member of Hermosa Drive Church of Christ, and the Good Sams Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Junius, Alex, Charles and Harry, sisters Kittie McGlothlin, and Ann Ford.
Survivors include her husband Al Lewis of the family home sons Jim Lewis and wife Kathy of Charleston, S. Carolina, and Don Lewis of Long Beach, California daughters Mary Lasater and husband Paul of Artesia, and Kitty Lewis of Dallas, Texas grandchildren Cody Lasater and wife Courtney of Ft. Worth, Texas, Staci Molina and husband Eric of Artesia, Sarah Rogers and husband John of Keller, Texas, Steven Lewis of Charleston, and Allison Lewis of Charleston greatgrandchildren Austin Lasater, Aria Molina, Alexander Molina and Ella Rogers.
