Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses for Maxcimiano P. Villegas of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Villegas, 69, died Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Eastern N.M. Medical Center in Roswell, New Mexico. Ministerial Servant Jacob George will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Tuesday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Mr. Villegas was born April 11, 1940 in Marfa, Texas; the son of Juan Villegas and Eulalia Porras Villegas. He served in the National Guard as a young man. In 1964 he was married to Nema Huerta in Carlsbad, N.M. He moved to Artesia as a young boy and has been a resident ever since. He worked as a Meat Cutter and a Roustabout in the oil fields. Max was a Jehovah Witness. He loved to play music, including his trumpet, and guitar, and enjoyed singing. He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Juan Daniel Villegas. Survivors include his wife Nema Villegas of Artesia; mother Eulalia Vellegas of Artesia; daughters Delilah Coss and husband Isaac of Artesia, Neomi Villegas of Artesia, and Rosa Villegas of Artesia; son Maximiliano Villegas of Albuquerque, N.M.; sisters Margie Larranaga of Peyton, Colorado; Viola Perez of Artesia, Maryrose Gallegos of Albuquerque, Juanita Molina of Artesia, and Helen Larranaga of Albuquerque; brothers Raymond Villegas of Artesia, Frank Villegas of Albuquerque, Joe Villegas of Albuquerque, Jesse Villegas of Odessa, Texas, and Gustavo Villegas of Las Cruces, N.M.; and 8 grandchildren.
