Memorial services are scheduled at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 3, 2003, at First Baptist Church for Mary Jean Waller of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Waller, 67, died Friday, December 27, 2002 at her home. Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Mrs. Waller was born November 15, 1935 in Rocky Hill, Arkansas; the daughter of David Dean Oglevie and Lillian Couch Oglevie. She came to Artesia in 1942 from Texas. On December 22, 1956 she was married to John Jack Waller in Artesia. Her husband preceded her in death October 9, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She was a Plant Line Assigner for US West for 34 years and was a member of First Baptist Church; and the Telephone Pioneers of America. Survivors include daughters Cheryl Martin of Artesia and Susan James of Gillette, Wyoming; sisters Edith Tiner of Pahrump, Nevada, Margaret Rogers of Artesia, and Lorene Bute of Lebanon, Oregon; a brother Clifford Oglevie of Artesia; and grandchildren Chris Martin and McKenzie Martin of Artesia, and Chelsea James and Matt James of Gillette, Wyoming. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Lakeview Christian Hospice or the First Baptist Church Vision 2000 Building fund.
