Mary Romero

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sep. 11, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Mary Huerta Romero, 105 Cleveland Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Romero, 48, died Friday, September 7, 2012 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Father Paul Murtagh SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ernie Huerta, Tony Huerta, Steve Forister, Raul Martinez, Richard Rodriguez, and Tommy Raglin. Honorary pallbearers will be Velma Rodriguez, Cecilia Martinez, Pam Peters, CarmenKelley, Susan Huerta, Olga Huerta, Pat Romero, Anita Romero, and Teresa Romero.

A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Monday.

Mary was born March 20, 1964 in Artesia, New Mexico the daughter of Lupe Huerta and Vickie Navarrette Huerta. She was a lifelong resident of Artesia.

On Sept. 19, 1998 she was married to Bernie Romero in Artesia.

She was a cashier and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, and St Lukes Liver Transplant Support Group in Houston, Texas .

Survivors include her husband Bernie Romero of Artesia parents Lupe and Vickie Huerta of Artesia brothers Ernie Huerta and wife Olga of Houston, Texas, and Tony Huerta of Artesia sisters Ernestina Navarrette and husband Simon of Artesia, and Minerva Forister and husband Steve of Artesia nieces Sabrina Lara, Ashley Forest, Lillie Kristal Forister, Shanelle Forister, Ysela Navarrette, Ysenia Navarrette, Cecelia Romero, Breana Romero, Gabrielle Romero, and Amber Marie Romero nephews Matthew Huerta, Aaron Romero, Dominic Romero, Isaac Romero, Ezekiel Munoz, and Cruz Munoz, Jr. Godchildren Gabriel Serrano, Allie Letcher, Allie Bejarano, and Jaycob Huerta companions Lucky and Suerte.
