Mary Rodriguez

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Friday, December 30, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Mary Guerrero Rodriguez, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Rodriguez, 74, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005 in Roswell, New Mexico. Fr. Paul Murtagh SS.CC. will officiate at the services with interment at Woodbine Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers. A vigil service is also planned for 6:30 p.m. today at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation at Our Lady of Grace will begin at 4:00 p.m. today. Mary was born July 4, 1931 in Ottine, Texas; the son of Apolinar Guerrero and Delfina Chaifer Guerrero. On April 10, 1953 she was married to Jose Calderon Rodriguez in Artesia, New Mexico. She came to Artesia from Texas in 1953. Her husband preceded her in death September 1, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and by two brothers, and one sister. She was a retired cleaning lady for Artesia Cleaners and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Apostolado, and the Third Order of Saint Francis. Survivors include sons Willie Rodriguez of El Paso, Texas, Simon Rodriguez of Artesia, Jose Carlos Rodriguez of Espanola, N.M., and David Rodriguez and wife Lena of Artesia; a daughter Patsy Perez of Roswell; brothers Rudy Guerrero of Freeport, Texas, Chico Guerrero of Van Horn, Texas, and Felix Guerrero of Houston, Texas; sisters Susie Welch of Roswell and Carmen Talavera of El Paso, Texas; 14 Grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
