Mary Prather

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 15 at the Lake Arthur Cemetery for Mary Lou Prather, Artesia Good Samaritan Center, Artesia, New Mexico. Charles Stackhouse of Carlsbad, N.M. will officiate at the services. Ms. Prather, 44, died Thursday, September 11, 2003 in Artesia. She was born March 20, 1959 in Carlsbad, New Mexico; the daughter of George E. Prather and Geraldine Warren Prather. She was a client at the Door of Opportunity and was a former stocker at Furrs Grocery. She was a member of Lake Arthur United Methodist Church and enjoyed painting and crafts. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her father; her step-father Audey Bain; a sister Sharon Vester; her grandfather Roy Warren; and by grandparents Frank and Betty Prather. Survivors include her mother Geraldine Bain of Lake Arthur; brothers Joe Bain of Lake Arthur and Roy Bain and wife Cathy of Loco Hills, N.M.; a sister Debra Robinson of Hico, Texas; grandmother Kate Stackhouse and husband Charles of Carlsbad; and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association at 3300 East Sunrise Drive, Tucson, Arizona 85718 Visitation will be at Lake Arthur Methodist Church beginning at 2:00 P.M. Sunday.
