Mary Permenter

Graveside services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday, July 26, at Woodbine Cemetery for Mary Jane Permenter, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Permenter, 76, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Artesia General Hospital in Artesia, New Mexico.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Mary was born August 1, 1936 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma the daughter of William Elbert Legrand and Ivy Lou Brookshier Legrand. She came to Artesia in March 2002 from Hobbs.

On March 12, 1957 she was married to Weldon Albert Permenter in Carlsbad, NM. He preceded her in death March 21, 2002.

She was a secretary for the City of Hobbs, AA Oilfield Services and Tretolite Oilfield Services. She was a member of the Baptist Denomination, enjoyed going to the Moose Lodge, and loved her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Survivors include daughters Pattie Ann Mitchell and husband Joe of Jal, NM, and Linda DuncanBush and husband Jim of Artesia brother Bill Legrand of Owasso, Oklahoma sisters Betty Butts and husband John of Sapulpa, and Della Sutterfield of Sapulpa grandchildren Timothy Duncan and wife Taryan, Mark Duncan and wife Krissy, Jennifer Mitchell and George Mitchell greatgrandchildren Hannah Duncan, Kylee Duncan, Emeline Duncan and Hailey Duncan.
