Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 29 at Hermosa Drive Baptist Church for Mary Louise Moore of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Moore, 90, passed away on January 25, 2018 at San Pedro Nursing Facility in Artesia.
Gavin Vaughn will officiate at the service will burial to follow at Woodbine cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28, at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Mary was born on December 4, 1927 in Colorado City, TX; the daughter of Clyde and Mary (Wilson) Shoemaker. On September 21, 1946 she married James Raymond Moore in Colorado City. The couple moved to Artesia in 1961 from Farmington, NM. James preceded her in death on March 7, 2008.
She was a housewife and a manager at Gold Bond Stamp Store. She was a member of Hermosa Drive Baptist, Good Sam's Club and loved to sew and read. She loved being a Granny to her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Betty Steele and Hazel Bradford, and son-in-law David Clowe II.
Survivors include her daughters Joan Kniffen and husband Kenneth of Clyde, TX, Joanne Clowe of Artesia, Doris Sutton and husband Leo of Monahans, TX and Ellen Moore of Clyde, TX; brothers Johnny Shoemaker of Conroe, TX and Ronnie Shoemaker of Hamlin, TX; sisters Lona Mae "Tootsie" Johnson of Abilene, TX and Clydene Lassiter of Chesnee, SC; grandchildren Shelley Flowers, Laurie Turner, Mary Kniffen, John Kniffen, Gene Clowe, Jim Clowe, Robby Sutton, Renee Ashbrook and Thomas Moore; 30 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
