Mary Miller

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Terpening Son Mortuary for former Artesia resident Mary Lois Jackson Miller of Flora Vista, N.M.

Mrs. Miller passed away at the loving home of Ed and Dinky Jackson in Flora Vista on Dec. 31, 2010 at 91 years young.

Pastor Michael Elliott will officate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin on Wednesday.

She was born Oct. 1, 1919 to James Lewis Pryor and Minerva Evelyn Bishop in Llano, Texas.

She was married to William Neil Jackson in Roswell, N.M. on March 24, 1937. She and Neil owned and operated Neil Jackson and Sons Well Service in Loco Hills where they raised ten children. Neil preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1971.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, two brothers and her second husband, Clyde Miller, one grandchild and one great grandchild.

She is survived by six sons, Bill Jackson and his wife, Carolyn, of Phoenix, Ariz., Joe Jackson and wife, Felicia, of Abilene, Texas, Jack Jackson and his wife, Virginia, of Lovington, N.M. and Andy Jackson and his wife, Linda, Mitchell Jackson, and Ed Jackson and his wife, Dinky, all of Flora Vista.

She is also survived by four daughters, La Juana Lawson and her husband, Richard, of San Angelo, Texas, Mary Fritz and her husband, Dean, Louise Whitney, and Sue Gould and her husband, Ronnie, all of Roswell.

Survivors also include 27 grandchildren, 67 greatgrandchildren, 18 greatgreatgrandchildren, and by one sister, Ruby Floyd and her husband, Gerald, of Temple, Texas.

She spent many happy hours with her friends at Artesia Senior Center where she and her quilting buddies made many beautiful quilts.

She and Clyde were faithful supportive members of Faith Baptist Church for many years.
She was a great lady and her passing leaves a large void in the lives of her many friends and loved ones.

In lieu of flowers her wishes would be that donations be made to the Artesia Senior Center.
