Mary Susan Lopez

Services are scheduled for 10 am Wednesday, January 15, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Mary Susan Lopez of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Lopez, 61, died on January 9, 2025 in Artesia.

A rosary is also scheduled for 9:30 am Wednesday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Burial will follow the services at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shawn Jimenez, Zachary Jimenez, Felix Perez, Timothy Hoerath, Jerome Carrasco, and R.J. Roy Carrasco.

Susan was born on October 8, 1963 in Carlsbad, New Mexico; the daughter of Tiburscio Carrasco and Erminia Mata Carrasco. She was a longtime resident of Artesia.

On February 16, 1985 she was married to Orlando Lopez in Artesia. She was the manager at Burger King and enjoyed working there for many years. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her grandchildren and attending all of their activities. She loved going on road trips with her husband and her favorite color was pink.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Ronald Carrasco.

Survivors include her husband Orlando Lopez; children Tabytha Aguirre, Leonarda Lopez, and Ronald Anthony Mendoza; siblings Adelina Aguilar, Ricardo Carrasco, Amelia Ortega, Roy Carrasco, Sylvia Mateer, Rudy Carrasco and Joseph Carrasco; and by grandchildren Evan Aguiire, Lily Perez, Diego Aquirre, Azalea Perez and Gohan Perez.
