Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 10 at Woodbine Cemetery for Mary Lindsay of Tucumcari, N.M.

Mary Lindsay age 78, Tucumcari Resident, passed away following an extended illness on Sunday April 5th 2015 in Amarillo Texas.

Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Thursday, April 9th beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Mary was born April 26, 1936 near Clear Spring MI. She married Leland D.Lindsey January 9, 1954 in Hagerstown, MD. They came to New Mexico in the spring of 1954. She worked for many years and retired from the Artesia School cafeterias. One of her greatest achievements was going to back to school as the age of 50, because TB had prevented her from graduating from high school. She Attained her GED at the age of 52. The Lindsay family lived in the same home for 45 years until she moved to Tucumcari in 2010 to be near her daughter. She had been an active member of the First Baptist Church of Tucumcari.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leland; a son Stanley; and a great-grandson Bryce.

Surviving her is her daughter Debra Whittington & husband Mark of Tucumcari. Daughter In law June Lindsay of Artesia. Brother James King of Coala Florida. Grandchildren Ginger Kelly & Nick and Megan Martin & B.C. , Great Grandchildren Alexis, Karrington, Rylee, Hunter, Katelyn and Austin all of Artesia New Mexico.
