Mary Hutson

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at Terpening Son Chapel for Mary J. Hutson, 503 Hank Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Hutson, 84, died Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Artesia General Hospital.

Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery with Eastern Star Rites. Pallbearers will be Daniel Hutson, Edward Mullen, Freddie Kimble, Harry Raglin, Roosevelt Spillman, and Roosevelt Harvey. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Lawson and her grandsons.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Mrs. Hutson was born October 21, 1925 in White House, Texas the daughter of James Henry Johnson and Maggie Dunn Johnson.

She was married to Willie John Hutson in Carlsbad, NM. She came to Artesia in 1945 from Tyler, Texas. He preceded her in death January 28, 1985.

She was a house keeper and member of Pilgrim Rest Chapter 11 OESPHA and served as a warder and on the Star Point. She was of the Methodist denomination.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Hattie Lois Austin, 5 brothers and a sister.



Survivors include son Clyde McCoy of Las Cruces, N.M. honorary children John Yates, Jr., Nancy Yates and Trey Yates all of Artesia brother James Johnson of Dallas, Texas sisters Maggie Lee Wallace and Helen Forrest both of Tyler, Texas grandchildren Sharon Davenport of Tyler, Margie McCoy of Albuquerque, N.M., John Austin and wife Debra of Artesia, Richard McCoy, and Michael McCoy and greatgrandchildren Tangenika Davenport, Jennifer Hensley, Angelica Austin, Jasmine Austin, Eric Austin, Dakarai McCoy, James McCoy, Keshawn McCoy, Stephon McCoy, Richard McCoy, Anessa McCoy, and Ebony McCoy.
