Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Woodbine Cemetery for Mary Ada Hooten, Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Hooten, 100, died Friday, October 4, 2013 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Dave Rogers will officiate at the services.
Mary was born April 30, 1913 in Gallup, New Mexico the daughter of Matthew Franklin Crim and Mary Ellen Givens Crim. She came to Artesia in the early 1940s.
On July 17, 1936 she was married to James Albert Hooten in Carlsbad, NM. He preceded her in death December 30, 1991.
She was a homemaker and a member of 8th and Grand Church of Christ.
She wsa preceded in death by her parents sons Albert Avis Hooten, and James Alvie Hooten daughter Mary Jo Randji sisters Ina, Ruby, Lillie Mae, and Pearl brothers Bennie and John.
Survivors include son Kenneth Robert Hooten of Carlsbad daughter Nellie Shirlene Wheeler of Canby, Oregon sister viginia Hudson of Roswell, NM 19 grandchildren and numerous great and greatgreatgrandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents sons Albert Avis Hooten, and James Alvie Hooten daughter Mary Jo Randji sisters Ina, Ruby, Lillie Mae, and Pearl brothers Bennie and John.
