Mary Heredia

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Mar. 5, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Mary Elizabeth Heredia, 910 Alvarado Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Heredia, 79, died Thursday, February 28, 2013 in Artesia, New Mexico.

will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Lionel Barrera, Otis Chavez Jr., Isaiah Chavez, Mario Gamez Jr., Alfred Gamez Jr., and Jonathon Gamez.

A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Monday.

Mary was born November 5, 1933 in Colorado City, Texas the daughter of Manuel Heredia and Angelita Gonzalez Heredia. She came to Artesia in 1943 from Texas.

She was a housekeeper and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, loving person inside and out, and a second mother to all of her nieces and nephews including Delma Barrera, Patricia Montes, Katrina Montes and families.

Survivors include sisters Enedina Mendoza of Reserve, NM, Ramona Barrera of Artesia, Tina Gamez of Phoenix, Arizona, and Mary Chavez of Artesia 12 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, nephews Gabriel Najera and Richard Mackie Chavez.
