Mary Boling

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 20, at St. Pauls Episcopal Church for former longtime Artesia resident Mary L. Boling of Roswell, N.M.


Mrs. Boling, 81, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at La Villa Assisted Living Center in Roswell.


Fr. Maurice Geldert will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sug Floore, Bob Hendrickson, Wayne Kemp, Lex Klein, Dan Lewis, and Jeff Youtsey. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Gray, Cub Cuthbertson, Ky Scott, Jerry Terpening, and Darin Chandler. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday.


Mary was born November 12, 1928 in Blackwell, Oklahoma the daughter of Albert C. Flickinger and Minnie M. Carroll Flickinger.


On Sept. 21, 1950 she was married to Robert E. Boling in Blackwell. They moved to Roswell in 1952 from Oklahoma and then to Artesia in 1956. He preceded her in death November 18, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents a sister Erma Cathey and granddaughter Darian Jimenez.


She was a homemaker and a very active member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church. She was also a member of the Artesia Altrusa Club since 1982.


Survivors include sons Mike Boling and wife Jamie of Roswell and Mark Boling of Artesia a daughter Jackie Jones and husband Roger of Artesia sisters Margaret Lockhart of Branson, Missouri and Kate Wilson of Tulsa, Oklahoma a brotherinlaw Charles Cathey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma six grandchildren Colin Boling of Miami, Florida, Blake Boling of Albuquerque, N.M., Pamela Jimenez, Emily Florez and Savannah Boling all of Artesia, and Shawnee Jimenez of Las Cruces, N.M. and three greatgrandchildren Andrea Jimenez, Mateo Florez, and Janayah Florez.


The family wishes to thank her care givers of the Rose Garden at La Villa and Vista Care.
