COOKIE BARTLETT

Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday, September 25 at West Main Baptist Church for Mary Jean "Cookie" Bartlett of Artesia.

Mrs. Bartlett, 74, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at her home.

Paul Hollandsworth will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Sanford, Darrel Dixon, Joel Buck, Charles Buck, Cole Towler and Larry Troublefield Jr.

There will also be visitation on Thursday at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Cookie was born September 10, 1941 in Cottonwood, NM; the daughter of Charles Buck and Ora (Payne) Buck. She was a long time area resident.

On Sept. 10, 1956 she was married to A.J. Sonny Bartlett in Lovington, NM.

She was a Beauty Operator for 48 years and a member of the Moose Lodge and the Elks Lodge.

Survivors include her husband Sonny Bartlett of Artesia; brother Charles Buck and wife Shirley of Artesia; grandchildren Michael Towler and Queena Mitcham; 3 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
