Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 29, at Woodbine Cemetery for Marvin Martin Cotner, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Cotner, 86, died Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at Cimarron House in Midland, Texas. The Masonic Lodge will officiate at the services. Honorary pallbearers will be Levi Stone, Roger Stone, Lee White, Jim Willoughby, Jim Price, John McGee, John Lanning, Carroll French, Kenneth Dickson, Leonard Witcher, Roy Bowman, Red Mayberry, Frank Devine and Sam Karr. Mr. Cotner was born August 28, 1916 in Short Bend, Missouri; the son of Elzie Martin Cotner and Susan Leticia Freeman Cotner. On October 23, 1937 he was married to Erma Regina Barbarick in Eldon, Missouri. They came to New Mexico in 1953 from Missouri and to Artesia in 1955. She preceded him in death August 3, 1998. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and by two sisters and one brother. He was a retired machinist for the area potash mines. He was a member of First Christian Church in Artesia and the Masonic Lodge in Cuba, Missouri. Survivors include a son Gary Cotner of Collinsville, Okla.; daughters Barbara Price of Sedalia, Colo., Nancy Cotner of Albuquerque, N.M. and Betty Ann Stone of Midland; grandchildren Sheila Pastore of Castle Rock, Colo., Michelle Stafford of Statesville, N.C. and Levi Stone of Midland; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Home Hospice of Midland-901 W. Missouri-Midland TX 79707; the Alzheimer's Association; or the Artesia Masonic Lodge 28 Scholarship Fund-P.O.
