Services are scheduled at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, March 7 at St. Pauls Episcopal Church for Marvin Theodore Carder, 319 W. Grand Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Carder, 91, died Thursday, February 28, 2002 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Reverend Herb Robbins will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Mr. Carders grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Carder was born January 12, 1911 in Artesia; the son of Harry Russell Carder and Georgia Eldora Caldwell Carder. On April 30, 1933 he was married to Evelyn Dixon in Artesia. His wife preceded him in death March 25, 1990. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Margaret Carder Ferriman; a brother Lawrence Carder; and a sister Lorene Howell. He was a lifelong Artesia resident and was retired shift foreman A operator at Navajo Refinery. He was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church; and had been a sergeant in the New Mexico State Guard. Survivors include a son Ronald L. Carder of Albuquerque; daughters Virginia Carder Nicolai of Redmond, Wash. and Mary Jo Carder Tolan of Artesia; a sister Edna Heckel of Artesia; brother-in-law Herbert Howell of Artesia; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
