Marty Martinez

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 10, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Marty Rodriquez Martinez, 709 Carper Dr., Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Martinez, 37, died Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at his home. Fr. Richard Lifrak SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Hernandez, Eliseo Catano, Austin Boone, Phillip Garcia, Angelo Gerrado, and Emiliano Gerrado. Honorary pallbearers will be Lalo Juarez Jr., Israel Juarez, Tito Martinez, Miguel Catano, Albino Araujo, Robert Rimbert and David Carrasco. A rosary is also scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Martinez was born July 7, 1970 in Artesia, New Mexico; the son of Ausencio Martinez Jr. and Alice Rodriquez Martinez. He was a lifelong resident of Artesia. He was a Ranger at the Living Desert State Park, and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Preceded in death by a brother Cristobal R. Martinez, and by grandfather Ausencio Martinez Sr. and by several aunts and uncles. Survivors include his parents Ausencio and Alice Martinez of Artesia; daughters Monique Madrid Martinez of Artesia, and Nikole Madrid Martinez of Artesia; son Cristobal 0. Martinez of Artesia; paternal grandmother Ophelia C. Martinez of Artesia, and maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Nick Rodriquez Sr. of Artesia; a future granddaughter Desiray Nykol Savoie; also by several aunts and uncles.
