Martin H. (Tito) Moreno was born on May 22, 1933 and raised in the beautiful mountain area of Alpine, Texas. Martin ended his journey on this earth Wednesday, May 15, 2024 one week shy of his 91st birthday.
Martin was one year in at Sul Ross University when he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and ended his military service as a Medic. While stationed at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico, he also worked for his father’s sand and gravel company laying sidewalks and roads in Artesia where he met the love of his life, Dalia (Fierro).
In 1977 he started his electrical contracting business, Moreno's Electric, LLC in Artesia. He built his business with honesty and integrity with the area contractors and locals. His business continues to this day under the leadership of his oldest son, Steve Moreno.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents Alberto and Beatrice Moreno, sister Margaret and brothers Armando and Alfredo.
His legacy will continue with his surviving wife, Dalia, his son Steve Moreno, his daughters Kali and Hali; Oscar J. (Blackie) and Becky Moreno, their daughters Laci, Morgan and Sarah, sons Mike, Stephen and Justin; daughters Velma Moreno-Bandy and husband Bart, their sons Stephen, Taebastian and Wyatt; and Gloria (Gogie) Dixon, her husband Dan, and their children Devin and Dana; Martin H. Moreno, Jr. and wife Mary Jo. He also leaves18 great grandchildren as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
A viewing will be held for Martin at Terpening & Son Chapel on Thursday, May 23rd from 2:00 - 4:00 PM followed by the rosary at Our Lady of Grace Church at 6:30 PM. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Church at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 24, 2024 with internment to follow at Twin Oaks Cemetery.
