Martin Alvarado

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Martin Gabriel Alvarado, 2107 W. Mann Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Alvarado, 23, died Monday, January 6, 2014 in Roswell, New Mexico.

Fr. Paul Murtagh, SS.CC. will officate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Saiz, Johnny Ramirez, Jeremy Ramirez, Nathan Ramirez, Bobby Cortez, Josh Rodriguez, Sammy Rodriguez, Gabriel Rodriguez, Johnny Ray Flores and David Robles.

A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Martin was born March 23, 1990 in Hobbs, New Mexico the son of Martin Alvarado and Naomi Robles. He came to Artesia in 1995 from Hobbs, NM.

On Sept. 17, 2011 he was married to Nakita Armendariz in Artesia.

He was a toolhand for Halliburton and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Jesus Alvarado and an aunt Mary Helen Alvarado.

Survivors include his wife Nakita Alvarado of Artesia father Martin Alvarado and wife Frances of Artesia mother Naomi Fuentes of Artesia daughter Andraya Alvarado of Artesia stepbrothers Steve Saiz, Johnny Ramirez, Jeremy Ramirez and Nathan Ramirez sister Danielle Marie Alvarado grandparents Cruz and Albert Robles, and Adelaida Alvarado numerous nieces and nephews.
