Celebration Services are scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, at First United Methodist Church in Hobbs, NM for Lynell Caton. Caton, 71 passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at the Artesia Good Samaritan Center. Mrs. Caton was born Dec. 21, 1936, in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of C.E. and Lois D. Burns. On June 28, 1959 she married Lewis Dale Caton in Alamogordo, NM. She graduated from Alamogordo High School in 1955 and from the University of New Mexico in 1959. She was a high school English and Business teacher for over 20 years. She was a Member of the Methodist Church and active member in the Emmaus community. Survivors include her husband Dale Caton, daughter Lynn Sundheimer and her husband Brian, and son Crit Caton and wife Carrie all of Artesia; sister Jerilyn Thornton and her husband Carl of Los Alamos, NM; brother Dennis Burns and wife Martha of La Luz, NM; grandchildren Kyle and Kaitlyn Sundheimer and Kirstin and Koby Caton of Artesia, NM. She had numerous nieces and nephews. Donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society in honor of Lynell Caton.
